Sometimes Martha Always Mary, that’s me. I love to host parties, paint walls, make cards, plant flowers, re-arrange furniture, and serve my family. But like Mary, I long to sit at the feet of Jesus. I suppose that’s my daily struggle in this stay-at-home mom life I lead. I truly feel like I’m “livin’ the life” yet I’m always striving for that delicate balance between pouring myself out for my family and for God. So much of what I see around me is about having it all. For me, truly, having it all means some days being a lot like Martha and a little like Mary and the next day, the other way around. No day is a perfect day, but there sure are beautiful moments. I’d like to share some of those moments with you.

“As they continued their journey he entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named Mary who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak. Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, ‘Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me.’ The Lord said to her in reply, ‘Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.’” Luke 11: 38-42
