Feast of feasts!

Ahhhh.  It’s one of my favorite days of the year.  The day after Thanksgiving!  I love everything about this day.  The turkey and pumpkin pie hangover, the fridge filled with leftovers, and everyone home from school and work to just hang out and do nothing, or maybe a lot.  I don’t care.  It’s the day after Thanksgiving!

We’ve lived in this house for about 4 1/2 years.  We have never used the dining room as a dining room.  So just for kicks, we moved our kitchen table and chairs in what we usually call “The Front Room” and got it all gussied up for a proper Thanksgiving Dinner.

We don’t have another table big enough for our family of six, so we got our old craft table out of the basement storage so at least the children can sit down for breakfast each morning.  It’s one of those tables they always used to sell at Target or Wal-Mart back in the day.  You know, like the early 2000’s.  Is that how you say it?  The early 00’s?

It doubled as a dessert table later in the evening.

The kids thought it was pretty neat to have our fancy dinner in an actual dining room.  And Mommy thought it was pretty cool to not eat in the kitchen because that meant I could leave the sink and every single counter filled with dirty dishes.

I love this tea cup and saucer.  It was my mom’s.  Isn’t it so Thanksgiving-y?

Here it is Instagrammed.

Do you Instagram?

I happen to love certain photos with the Instagram effect.

Do you think turkey pics are gross?  Somehow Instagram makes them a little less gross to look at, in my opinion.

I love my platter.  It was a wedding gift from a dear friend.  I use it all the time and love thinking of her family each time I serve up something delicious for my family to eat.

And now, I shall eat a turkey sandwich, and I shall smother the turkey with Duke’s Mayonnaise, Amen.

Happy Thanksgiving!
