It’s the worst feeling, isn’t it? Forgetting to get someone special a gift for Christmas? Here are some ideas for the people in your life who you may have forgotten.
1. Magazine Subscription
When I give the gift of a magazine subscription, I just print out a picture of the cover from Google Images and insert it in a card with the explanation, “One year subscription to…” so the child understands they will be getting a magazine in the mail and can see an example of what it will look like.
2. Mass Enrollment
This is one of the most treasured gifts our family receives each year. A family who I taught years ago sends us a Mass enrollment from the Poor Clare Sisters in Alexandria, Virginia. We are remembered in the Christmas Octave of Masses said at the convent. The family sends us a beautiful hand made card from the sisters with their Christmas greeting card. What a gift! If you Google “Mass Enrollment,” the list of religious communities and societies to choose from is very long. You simply contact the community requesting an enrollment card. They will send it to you, and you make a donation to the community. My favorite is The Society of the Little Flower.
3. Hostess Gifts
I like to have some little gifts on hand to give to anyone I’m visiting at Christmastime. Wine is always nice, of course. I like these products too…
I found these at the end of a random aisle at Target and let me tell you, they smell delicious! I’m a big fan of all things Mrs. Meier’s Clean Day, but many ladies out there haven’t tried her products yet. It’s fun sharing the products we love with friends!
If you’re worried about getting gifts to folks in time for Christmas, don’t fret! You have until the Epiphany, January 6th!
