Get a leg up on Lent!

Get a leg up on Lent Graphic

With Ash Wednesday just a week away, I thought I would share some Lenten posts from the past to help you and the little ones in your life to have a prayerful, meaningful Lent this year.

Books for Lent (and Easter)

These five ideas are all from the same post.

Stations of the Cross at Home

Hide the Alleluia

Christmas cards from friends?  Prayer intentions!

Crown of Thorns Craft

Lenten Centerpiece

It was one of those years when I was feeling quite zealous, I guess.  The Stations project cost a lot up front, but we store the candle holders and candles each year on Holy Saturday and pull them out again each Ash Wednesday.  This is the type of craft that you can use year after year.  The “Hide the Alleluia” craft was not as expensive, and we use these every year as well.  The crown of thorns project is definitely the least expensive, but it’s not something I would store.  I usually just toss the crowns at the end of Lent and start fresh the next year.  And the Lenten Centerpiece is made up of things that you can use for other purposes the whole year through.

In a few weeks, I will share my Easter Garden Tutorial.  Until then, I hope these ideas have inspired you!
